How to Highlight Text in a PDF

When you are studying a paper or reviewing a contract, highlighting the important lines makes them easy to find later. You do not need special software to highlight text in a PDF — a browser tool can do it and save the result.

Highlighting is one kind of annotation. A good editor also lets you add text notes, draw boxes around a clause, or scribble freehand, all on top of the original page without altering the underlying document.

To highlight text in a PDF with PdfWill: open the Edit and Annotate tool, upload your file, choose the highlight tool and a color, and drag across the lines you want to mark. Apply and download — nothing is uploaded.

To fill in a form instead, the fill PDF forms tool handles fields directly, and to stamp a label across the page, the watermark tool is cleaner.
