How to Add a Watermark to a PDF
A watermark is a semi-transparent label stamped across every page — think DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or a company logo. It discourages unauthorized reuse and makes the status of a document obvious at a glance.
There are two kinds: text watermarks (a word or phrase you type) and image watermarks (usually a logo). Good tools let you control opacity, size, and rotation so the mark is visible without obscuring the content.
To add a watermark to a PDF with PdfWill: open the Add Watermark tool, upload your file, set your text or image and adjust the opacity and angle, then download. The watermark is applied to every page in your browser.
For sensitive documents, pair a watermark with the protect tool to add a password as well. And if you are preparing a formal document, adding page numbers gives it a finished, professional look.
